Why Earn Your Certificate of Advanced Study in Play Therapy at Sacred Heart?

Earn your Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS) in play therapy from New England’s first credentialed play therapy education center, the Sacred Heart Institute for Play Therapy and Expressive Arts Education and Research. The institute is approved by the Association for Play Therapy. With a low-residency component, this 18-credit, online program is ideal for working clinicians who want to advance their credentials. Most courses in this two-year program are asynchronous, allowing students to complete their coursework on an individual basis, with the exceptions of the synchronous Practicum I and II as well as the three-day on-ground Play Therapy Residency.

The CAS in play therapy meets the post-master’s educational requirements for the Registered Play Therapy (RPT) credential as detailed by the Association for Play Therapy (APT). The Institute for Play Therapy and Expressive Arts Education and Research at Sacred Heart University is an Approved Center for Play Therapy Education by The Association for Play Therapy.
