Gold & Silver Medals of Excellence
The Academic Awards recognize outstanding academic achievement among graduating students from each baccalaureate degree major within each college across the University. The Gold Medal of Excellence is presented to the student who attains the highest cumulative grade point average (GPA) in their college, while the Silver Medal of Excellence is awarded to the student with the second-highest cumulative GPA. These awards honor sustained excellence in scholarship and academic performance. The minimum GPA for both the gold and silver is 3.8. In the event of a tie, additional factors will be considered to identify one award winner for each of the gold and silver medals of excellence.
