Part-Time Student Life Graduate Assistant

The SL Graduate Assistant will work directly with the Associate Dean of Students and Coordinator of Student Life Programs by way of event planning, advising/mentoring student leaders, and oversight of and assistance with department events throughout the year. The Graduate Assistant ( GA) role is a live-in position requiring extensive evening and weekend time commitments. The graduate assistant must be available to work those hours. The position will also require week long on-call duty hours that will be rotated with other Graduate Assistants during each month/semester.

    • Tuition stipend of 18 credits

    • Meal Plan ($1,000/year)

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist and work directly with the Coordinator of Student life Programs on SHU Orientation Program, OL training, etc.
  • Coordinate the First 50 Days Program
  • Assist with FYE Assistant training
  • Assist with retention efforts for transfer/first year students.
  • Assist with all SL programs including: Family Weekend, Campus Life Leadership Awards and Student Affairs Lecture Series, Senior Week, Concert.
  • GA Duty
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Full-Time Student Life Graduate Assistant

The SL Graduate Assistant will work directly with the Associate Dean of Students and Coordinator of Student Life Programs by way of event planning, advising/mentoring student leaders, and oversight of and assistance with department events throughout the year. The Graduate Assistant ( GA) role is a live-in position requiring extensive evening and weekend time commitments. The graduate assistant must be available to work those hours.   • Full-time (35 hours/week)
  • Compensation Package:
    • $15,000 tuition waiver
    • $12,300 stipend
    • Housing (includes cable & utilities)
    • Meal Plan ($1,500/year)

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all Student Life Departmental budget transactions through SHU EBuy as well as the accounting of all budgets through Quicken. Also responsible for communicating monthly reports, club/organization expenditure questions and advising the SG Vice President for Finance.
  • Assist and work directly with the Coordinator of Student life Programs on SHU Orientation Program, OL training, etc.
