Student Involvement Graduate Assistant
This position will serve as a team member of Student Involvement through Student Life and will work to improve and support the student experience outside of the classroom. The Graduate Assistant (GA) role is a full-time live-in position with extensive evening and weekend commitments.
The GA must take 2 graduate courses per semester or 1 per module, based on how the schedule of the individuals academic graduate program.

- Full-time (35 hours/week)
- Compensation Package:
- $15,000 tuition waiver
- $12,300 stipend
- Housing (will be living with other graduate assistants in a house near campus)
- $100 dining dollars per month

July 6, 2022 - June 30, 2023 (renewable up to 2 years)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and related experience in Student Activities/Involvement, Leadership Development, campus event planning or Student Government
- Must be accepted into a Sacred Heart University graduate program
- Organizational skills, teamwork orientation, commitment to leadership/community development, initiative and positive attitude
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Serves as director advisor to one or more student groups within Student Involvement
- Organizes campus wide involvement fairs (Just SHU It Fair & Spring Involvement Fair) with guidance from the Director and Assistant Director of Student Involvement
- Supports the daily operations of clubs and organizations including, event requests, student group proposals and skill/developmental trainings
- Supports the Campus Engagement Platform SHU Engage, powered by Presence
- Coordinates social media planning for Student Involvement, manages display case & marketing of all events for the office
- Produces a weekly schedule of campus wide events (This Week at SHU Calendar)
- Attends campus events to build community rapport and help troubleshoot when needed
- Assists in implementing signature Student Involvement & Student Life programs such as New Student Orientation, Welcome Weekend, President’s Gala, Spring Concert, SHU Carnival, Family Weekend, Fall & Spring Fest, Senior Week
- Prepares weekly/monthly reports as needed
- Completes administrative tasks relative to Student Involvement operations
- Serve in the Graduate Assistant "on-duty" schedule each semester and with snow/weather delays
- Assumes other projects as assigned by Director and Assistant Director and meets regularly
