Operations Assistant
The Office of Global Education (OGE) is seeking a graduate student at the start of their program to serve as the OGE Operations Assistant for the upcoming academic year (August – June). The position requires 20 weekday hours, preferably 11 a.m - 3 p.m., with occasional evening/weekend work. The successful candidate must represent the OGE in a mature and eloquent manner and have related work experience. Study abroad or other international experience as well as ease in using the Microsoft Office Suite, various social media platforms and other marketing tools is required.
- Part-time (20 hours/week)
- Compensation: $12,600

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as front-line reception (in-person and phone) for Global Education
- Assist with study abroad program administration and website updates
- Lead the committee for International Education Week, ensuring community collaboration and engagement
- Assist with initial study abroad advising and information sessions
- Plan and execute OGE events, including bookings, marketing and on-site management
- Schedule and participate in class visits, virtually and/or in-person, to provide information about Global Education and study abroad to students
- Represent the OGE and present at Admissions events throughout the year
- Plan and execute specific social media campaigns, collaborating with Global Ambassadors and work study
- Provide support to the Global Ambassador program through training, meetings and activities
- Other duties/projects as needed
Knowledge & Skills Needed
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Study abroad and/or other international experience required
- Candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and handle multiple ongoing projects simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation skills
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to diverse constituents
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ease with technology. Demonstrated experience using MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint), Google Docs, social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Wordpress)
Unusual Working Conditions
Occasional weekend and/or evening hours required.
