Graduate Assistant for Climbing Wall + Facilities

To assist with the day to day operations of the Valentine Health & Recreation Center with specific responsibilities relating to the climbing wall, facilities and equipment. This position will oversee student employees for the climbing wall as well as assisting in the workout area.

• Full-time (35 hours/week)
• Compensation Package:
  • $13,000 tuition waiver
  • $12,000 stipend
  • $1,000 meal plan

Dates

Two-year position beginning ASAP – June 12, 2020

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee the climbing wall and receive training in safety and preparation
• Run demonstration lessons for interested students
• Oversee the Club Sports Climbing Team
• Assist in the management of the entire facility and equipment
• Ensure that all climbing gear is safe and properly equipped
• Responsible for promoting the Climbing Wall and programming in that specific area
• Assist with building operations – including opening and closing hours, equipment management, and additional staff
• Work with other Graduate Assistants on a rotating basis of being “on call” for the facility

Unusual Working Condition

Nights and weekends required.
