Athletic Training Graduate Assistant
To work directly with the Athletic Training faculty to provide laboratory assistants, support for practical exams, and representation of the Athletic Training program for prospective student events. The GA attends monthly meetings with the Program Director and/or Athletic Training faculty.
- Part-time (10-15 hours/week)
- Compensation: $5,000 tuition waiver

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain order and cleanliness in the instructional labs on a daily basis.
- Set-up and restoration of lab space and requested learning items for specific classes and examination activities including retrieval of any requested equipment as needed. This will involve moving and arranging furniture and equipment.
- Maintain an open line of communication with course instructors to facilitate organized implementation of lab activities/assignments including practical examinations.
- Adhere to and encourage department infection control and "end of lab" procedures.
- Communicate with Facilities & Construction to maintain basic cleanliness standards for labs.
- Maintain lab equipment, including repairs, timely replacement, and cleaning.
- Prepare linens as requested for class activities and launder linens in department laundry area.
- Maintain department laundry and linens via proper folding, stacking, and storage.
- Maintain lab storage areas including organization of individual lab and large room drawers, cupboards, and cabinets.
- Conduct lab equipment inventories each semester, including maintenance of par level database and purchase history on Microsoft
- Represent the Athletic Training program at open house events for prospective students.
- Participate and organize a social media presence for the Athletic Training sites.
Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer
To provide management of the Athletic Training Department within the Department of Athletics. Also to provide athletic training services as illustrated in the BOC Rule Delineation Document and Athletic Training Practice Domains. These include Injury/Illness Prevention and Wellness Protection, Clinical Evaluation and Diagnosis, Immediate and Emergency Care, Treatment and Rehabilitation, and Organizational and Professional Health and Well-being.
- Full-time (20+ hours/week)
- 2019-2020 Compensation Package: $19,500 tuition waiver, $10,000 stipend, $1,000 meal plan
- Academic Program Required or Preferred: Exercise Science, MBA, Education

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide immediate written and data input documentation of all athletic injuries/conditions, treatment, rehabilitation, and progress notes, as well as documentation of all physician referrals and completion of insurance forms
- Responsible for insuring compliance to medical form policies by all student-athletes - primarily assigned sports
- Coverage 2 traditional in-season sports as assigned by Head Athletic Trainer
- Administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer
- Coverage of athletic training room hours
- Coverage of other home practices and events
- Support administration of budget and inventory
- Attendance at bimonthly Athletic Training Department meetings
- Responsibility to assist Head Athletic Trainer in other areas as needed
- Adhere to department and University policies and procedures as stated in manuals
- Adhere to NATA code of ethics
- Responsible for coverage of 32 sports and 850 intercollegiate athletes through a team approach
Knowledge & Skills Needed
- Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training
- Eligible for the Board of Certification Examination, as well as CT licensure
- Experience working in the Division I setting
Unusual Working Conditions
Work hours in excess of 20 per week, evenings, weekends, travel required.
