Federal Pell Grants

Pell Grants are funded by the federal government and are designed to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students who exhibit financial need pursuing their first undergraduate degree. Pell awards are based on the federally calculated Student Aid Index (SAI) and the student's enrollment intensity. Pell Grants range from $740 - $7,395 for an academic year.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)

SEOG awards are provided by federal and institutional funds and are restricted to undergraduate students who are eligible for the Federal Pell Grant and demonstrate exceptional financial need as determined by the FAFSA. Grants range in amounts from $100 to $4,000 a year.

Federal College Work-Study (CWS)

Work-Study is funded by federal and institutional sources. Students who qualify for this program may help meet educational expenses through part-time employment during the academic year. Students are paid bi-weekly at a rate established in accordance with federal and University standards.

Federal TEACH Grant

The TEACH Grant Program is a non-need based federal program that provides up to $4,000 per year to undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled in a TEACH Grant eligible program and are taking or will be taking coursework necessary to become a highly-qualified elementary or secondary teacher in a high-need field.

Recipients must sign an Agreement to Serve agreeing that they will teach full-time in a designated teacher shortage area for four complete years (within eight years of completing academic program) at an elementary or secondary school serving children from low-income families in a high-need field.

If service obligation is not met, grant will convert to Direct Unsubsidized Loan with interest accrued from the date the grant was disbursed. For additional information, visit the TEACH Grant webpage.
