Community Outreach
- Igor Khokhlov, assistant professor of cybersecurity, delivered a virtual cyber awareness talk on phishing attacks and countermeasures to the patrons of Hamden Public Library on Nov. 17, 2021
- Sajal Bhatia, director of cybersecurity, served as a judge for the 2021 Connecticut STEM Fair, where he evaluated nine completed projects and six research proposals
- Bhatia served as an external reviewer for the proposed master’s program in cybersecurity and engineering at the University of New Hampshire
K-12 Outreach
- Bhatia mentored and supervised a rising junior at Amity Regional High School in Woodbridge, CT on his research project on “Creating a distributed denial-of-service attack mitigation system using SYN cookies to ensure access to crucial election information” for the 2021 Connecticut STEM Fair
Industry Outreach
- Academic-industry partnership established with Guardian Life for cybersecurity co-ops, with three students piloted in spring 2020
- Academic-industry partnerships established with Cellebrite and Splunk for specialized courses offered
