Club Esports

SHU’s club esports team is a dedicated group of competitive gamers who emphasize teamwork, strategy and skill development during practice sessions and competitions. During tournaments, club members test their skills across different games as they compete against other collegiate teams. With a strong commitment to growth and collaboration, the club strives for excellence while fostering a supportive community. The club also provides recreational gaming opportunities and experiential learning experiences to prepare students to enter this fast-growing industry.

SHU Innovate Club

SHU Innovate focuses on the growth and development of technology. This academic club is for students interested in Computer Science and Engineering. Their purpose is to facilitate conversations about technology and its social and ethical implications. SHU Innovate plans to offer career development opportunities for students interested in the field.

“SHU Innovate Club has been nothing but fun from the first day I joined. Every week I look forward to our meetings just so I get to see my friends and learn new skills. I’ve not only enhanced my coding skills, but also made friends along the way that I will forever be grateful for. I was hesitant heading into the Innovate Club because I didn’t think I was intelligent enough to join. DO NOT let this stop you from joining! Every member there, even if they are insanely smart, is friendly and willing to help you learn. I definitely recommend joining Innovate Club. It was the best decision I’ve made my spring semester.” ~Erica Class of 2023

Upsilon Pi Epsilon

Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE) Chapter was organized in 2007 to recognize students with exemplary academic records in computing disciplines. Its chapter joins the other 230 chapters in the United States and abroad. UPE is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies. UPE offers scholarships to deserving members and encourages chapters to offer services to the community in computing fields. Our chapter has had several scholarship winners. We have offered tutoring projects and classes at senior centers and worked with some elementary schools in the area. We celebrate our students each year in the spring with an induction ceremony in front of faculty, family and friends.
