Undergraduate Programs

Associate Degree in Nursing | Traditional
The Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) allows students to earn their degree and enter the nursing field within 2-3 years. The part-time program combines nursing theory and a strong general education foundation with hands-on experience in our state-of-the-art simulation labs and clinical rotations at area hospitals and other healthcare facilities.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing | Traditional
The Bachelor of Science degree is the First Professional degree in nursing and helps prepares women and men for the professional practice of nursing in a variety of settings such as hospitals, home care agencies and community-based health care facilities, providing all the educational background expected from a college of nursing.

Second Degree Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing | Traditional
This program is designed for students who hold a bachelor’s degree in another field to complete the BSN in just 15 months. The Second Degree Accelerated BSN program follows a similar nursing curriculum to our traditional BSN program but builds on the student’s existing undergraduate degree to focus exclusively on nursing coursework.

RN to BSN | Online
The program is specifically designed for RN students returning to college to finish their baccalaureate education. Registered nurses who have an Associate Degree in Nursing with 90 transfer credits can earn their bachelor’s in as few as 10 months with Sacred Heart’s Accelerated RN to BSN.

RN-BSN-MSN  | Online
Accelerate your path toward nurse leadership with Sacred Heart's online RN–BSN–MSN program. If you have a diploma or associate’s degree in nursing, this program provides you with a faster route to a master’s degree and more career opportunities.

Master of Science in Nursing

Clinical Nurse Leader | Online
Designed to focus on the skills and knowledge needed to fulfill this new role, this specialization shows you how to evaluate patient outcomes, assess risk, and coordinate with other health care professionals to ensure high quality care. After completion of the program, students are eligible to sit for the American Association of Colleges of Nursing CNL Certificate Exam.

Learn how to practice positive management and leadership with an emphasis on quality and safety.

Nursing Education | Online
Complement your clinical experience with skills in teaching and learning to prepare the next generation of nurses. The curriculum is designed to provide you with an understanding of issues in nursing education, curriculum design and evaluation theory, and experience in the faculty role role needed to provide training in a college of nursing or other educational setting.

Family Nurse Practitioner | Online
Learn to provide family-focused care to patients throughout the lifespan, including primary care. Gain the knowledge and skills to pass national certification examinations from the American Nurses Association and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner | Online
Sacred Heart University's online MSN-PMHNP program prepares graduates with the knowledge and skill to manage the care of patients with psychiatric mental health conditions independently through advanced assessment, diagnosis and treatment. Individual and group psychotherapy, medication management, emergency psychiatric care and other content are included in this 42-credit program.
