Accounting Program Disclosures

State Boards of Accountancy have specific requirements for CPA licensure. Students are strongly encouraged to check with the State Accounting Board in which they intend to obtain licensure.

Educational requirements for CPA licensure vary by state. Sacred Heart University’s Bachelor of Science in accounting is designed to fulfill all education requirements for Certified Public Accountant licensure in the state of Connecticut. The Master of Science in accounting and the Certificate in accounting provide students graduate level coursework that may be used to meet education and licensure requirements. Students who plan to seek licensure outside of Connecticut should contact the appropriate State Board of Accountancy to ensure that coursework meets the state’s educational requirements for licensure.

Sacred Heart University’s Bachelor of Science degree, Master of Science degrees, and the Certificate in accounting are designed to meet the standards required by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
