Through Sacred Heart University's dual degree pathway, students majoring in business analytics & applied AI, computer engineering, computer science, or health science can begin graduate coursework during their senior year, earning both a bachelor's degree and a Master of Science in health data analytics in as little as five years.
Students admitted to the dual degree program as incoming first-year students are guaranteed admission to the Master of Science in health data analytics program, provided they continue to meet program progression requirements as undergraduates.

Through a flexible online format, you will learn to use data to derive meaningful insights that support evidence-based decision-making across hospitals, health systems, insurers, public health agencies, and other health care organizations.
How the 4+1 Dual Degree Pathway Works
Students majoring in business analytics & applied AI, computer engineering, computer science, or health science may pursue this pathway by choosing the dual degree on their Common Application. If admitted to the dual degree program in addition to their selected major, students will need to complete the required prerequisite coursework and meet program progression requirements. Students complete four years of undergraduate study and begin graduate coursework during their senior year.
Up to 12 graduate credits may count toward both degrees, allowing students to complete the master's degree in approximately one additional year and save on tuition costs.

Criteria for Admission as an Incoming First-Year Student
Students apply to Sacred Heart University through the Common Application and may elect the dual degree pathway in addition to their undergraduate major.
Minimum Criteria
- High school GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Strong preparation in mathematics
- Interest in health care, technology, analytics, or data science
Students admitted into the dual degree pathway must continue to meet program-specific requirements to progress into the Master of Science in health data analytics program.
Criteria to Progress to the Master of Science in Health Data Analytics Program
- Successful completion of the bachelor's degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- A minimum grade of C in any graduate courses taken during undergraduate study
- Successful completion of the required prerequisite course based on undergraduate major:
- Business analytics & applied AI, computer science, and computer engineering majors: HDA 410 Introduction to Healthcare in the US
- Health Science majors: HDA 420 Essential Skills for Analytics in Health Science
