Intramural & Esports Graduate Assistant

Assist the club sports & recreation department with the planning, administration, and daily operations of club sports and recreational programming, including management in the areas of games, risk, and facilities, as well as hands-on experience in leadership, engagement, and wellness initiatives.

  • Full-Time: 30 hours/week
  • Compensation: $26,000

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and execution of all intramural and esports programming
  • Develop seasonal offerings to engage a diverse array of stuents
  • Support a creation and distribution of marketing and promotional materials
  • Oversee student workers
  • Manage the esports lounge to ensure proper care of space and equipment

Knowledge & Skills Needed

  • Sports experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and managerial skills

Pioneer Lanes & Fitness Graduate Assistant

Assist the club sports & recreation department with the planning, administration, and daily operations of club sports and recreational programming, including management in the areas of games, risk, and facilities, as well as hands-on experience in leadership, engagement, and wellness initiatives.

  • Full-Time: 30 hours/week
  • Compensation: $26,000

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Help oversee Pioneer Lanes (SHU's bowling center)
  • Oversee the hiring, training, and scheduling of student staff
  • Engage with students and faculty to support a clean and welcoming environment
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety of equipment (shoes, balls, lanes)
  • Troubleshoot minor lane issues
  • Help oversee student fitness programming by ensuring all class space and equipment is in good condition and all classes are meeting the needs of students

Knowledge & Skills Needed

  • Bowling experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Must have an interest in learning some basic technical and operational skills used in a bowling center
  • Interest in fitness and wellness initiatives
  • Strong management and leadership skills

Recreational Events & Promotions Graduate Assistant

  • Ensure high engagement and safety
  • Promote events through creation and distribution of marketing materials, digital content, and on-site outreach
  • Assist fellow GAs in promoting events in their areas
  • Evaluate program success and provide feedback for continued improvement and growth

Knowledge & Skills Needed

  • Creative and strong experience in social media
  • Interest in sports and/or fitness preferred
