Welcome Weekend
We are so excited to welcome you to Sacred Heart University as a member of the class of 2030!
Welcome Weekend is the jumpstart to your journey here at Sacred Heart University. It consists of move-in for residential students, academic sessions and social events–all before the start of the semester! Commuter students are required to participate as well and have a required meeting to attend.
Orientation Leaders will be around all weekend to help you get settled and introduce you to the traditions and activities planned for you during Welcome Weekend.
Some signature events of Welcome Weekend include:
- Class of 2030 picture
- First 50 Days Kickoff
- Hypnotist, food trucks and more!
Move-In
Residential students should check your SHU accounts for an email regarding the specific move-in time based on residence hall. There will be some assistance and carts available, but please be prepared to move in your belongings to your assigned room. Members of your family who will be helping you move in should plan on leaving campus before the mandatory evening events take place.
Helpful hints: Label all your belongings, dress comfortably, wear sneakers, and be patient–it’s a long day!
Commuter Students
Commuter students are required to participate in Welcome Weekend sessions, including a mandatory meeting just for commuters during the weekend (2027 date TBD).
