Join us for an engaging, hands-on introduction to life as a student at the Jack Welch College of Business & Technology (WCBT).

Our goal is for you to get to know your future faculty, community employers and all the resources that SHU has to offer while building lifelong connections with a small cohort of peers.

Program Highlights

  • Setting expectations and goals for your first year as a WCBT student
  • Strengthening necessary skills for success as a student and as a professional, such as team building, presentation, networking and more
  • Expanding your network by interacting with community partners, faculty, alumni and employers, and meeting fellow classmates a week before classes begin
  • Attending panels, discussions, workshops and fun team-building activities that explore industry disruptors, career options and strategies for impactful presentations

I participated in the Mind Your Business pre-fall program this past summer and would highly recommend it to anyone considering the opportunity. The program significantly helped me transition into college in several important ways. It gave me a strong understanding of Sacred Heart's campus and helped me acclimate, allowed me to begin building my relationships and network with both students and professors and introduced me to what academic courses at SHU are like. Additionally, the program offers many activities, ranging from developing your professional career with potential internship opportunities, to team collaboration projects with an opportunity to receive one credit towards your transcript as well as other entertaining activities like going to a ropes course, along with free tickets to a Bridgeport Islander game.
