Following this overview, students will meet their peer mentor for small group discussions and activities with academic advisers and faculty mentors.

Meet at the Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts for shuttle pick up to West Campus starting at 9 a.m. Students can check their SHU email for information about when their major/program is scheduled to start. From there, get a tour of the college and meet with your Welch mentor, peers, faculty, and staff to better understand expectations, courses, available resources, and more! Shuttles will begin bringing students back to the Park Avenue Campus at 11:30 a.m., with the last shuttle departing West Campus at 12:15 p.m.

This interactive session will offer first-year students in the College of Arts & Sciences a head start on their Sacred Heart University college careers. Alpha Kappa Psi (AKPsi), the professional business fraternity, will host a Shark Tank-themed recruitment event to introduce students to the organization through an engaging and interactive experience. Participants will work in teams to develop a business idea based on a prompt and present their concept to a panel of AKPsi members acting as sharks. Teams will receive feedback on creativity, feasibility, teamwork, and presentation skills while competing in a fun and supportive environment. The event is designed to help students strengthen communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities that are valuable in both academic and professional settings.
