The Gaming & Esports Living Learning Community creates a shared residential experience centered on gaming as a creative, competitive and technical system within contemporary digital culture. Designed especially for students interested in game design and development, esports and digital media, this community also welcomes those who are curious about gaming culture and its broader impact. More than just competitive play, this LLC explores the creative, technical, cultural and professional dimensions of gaming while emphasizing collaboration, innovation, leadership and responsible participation in digital communities.
Gaming & Esports LLC Experience
Students examine how games are designed, played and experienced while exploring the ethical, social and industry-related aspects of gaming and esports.
Through this program, you’ll explore:
- Gaming culture, ethics, inclusion and online behavior
- Game design, development and player experience
- Esports teamwork, strategy, leadership and performance
- The professional ecosystems surrounding gaming and digital media
What you’ll experience:
- Faculty-led discussions connecting gaming to academic disciplines
- Collaborative design challenges and student-led projects
- Presentations and discussions linking residential life with academic and co-curricular interests
- Exploration of streaming, content creation and event production
- Opportunities to build peer networks grounded in shared interests
- Development of communication, problem-solving and leadership skills that extend beyond gaming environments

We are looking for students who are enthusiastic and excited to join the LLC program.
Housing Information
Students may request a roommate; however, all residents of the Gaming & Esports LLC must apply and be individually accepted into the program. Room assignments are determined by the housing staff, and requested roommates must also qualify for and be accepted into the Gaming & Esports LLC.
Cost
$350/semester
How to Apply
Students must complete the online application by June 11, 2026. In addition to the application, students must complete the University Housing Application.
