Each year Sacred Heart receives countless requests from students, families, faculty/staff, and guests for information and assistance finding off-campus housing. To meet this need, Sacred Heart University created this website in collaboration with a third-party company, “Jump Off Campus.”
We recommend that Sacred Heart students looking to live off-campus, in the city of Bridgeport or town of Fairfield, utilize this website.
This site provides students, faculty, and staff with a central hub where they can find housing options, sublets, roommates, and resources about off-campus living. The service is free to students, faculty, and staff.
This website includes a variety of helpful resources including the off-campus housing search tool that provides information to students looking to live in the off-campus community. All properties listed on our off-campus housing website are required to submit an active rental license to list on the website, which means they have met the local municipalities and cities License & Inspection and various code requirements.
Jump Off Campus is a searchable database that offers real estate listings, with options to search by cost, number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, lease (12 months or 10 months), building type (apartment or house to share), pet policy, and whether the property is furnished or unfurnished. All listings on the site include:
- Photographs and floor plans
- Maps with proximity to campus
- Links to property email, phone, and/or website
- Comprehensive property description including cost, availability, and list of amenities

SHU Safe is an emergency communication tool between the University community and campus security and will connect you with Police, Fire or EMS. This mobile app is available for both Android and iPhone devices. When you first download the SHU Safe app, you will be prompted to set up a profile with basic information about you and your medical history (allergies, diabetes, etc.) that will help first responders to treat you in case of emergency. You are not required to fill this out in its entirety, but the more information you provide, the easier it will be for emergency personnel to provide immediate and directed assistance to you.
