Commuter Parking

Commuter students who plan to park on campus for the fall 2026 semester must apply for a commuter permit for the 2026/2027 academic year.

Visit Parking Assignments

  1. Log in with your SHU network ID & password.
  2. You must enter all data fields or your request will not be accepted.
  3. You may pre-pay for your permit once you submit your registration. The link is provided on the registration confirmation screen.
  4. The $50 cost will be billed to your student account after you have received your permit.

Permit Distribution

  1. Commuter permit requests submitted by July 19, 2026, will be mailed to the address you entered during your permit registration. Please confirm that your mailing address is correct. The University is not responsible for mail sent to an incorrect address provided by you.
  2. Commuter permit requests submitted from July 20 to the end of the following spring semester will be available for pick up at the Public Safety parking office in the Academic Center on Park Avenue Campus during the posted hours of operation.

Payment

After submitting your permit request, you can complete the online payment by clicking the payment link on the confirmation screen.

Once you complete the required payment information and click “add to cart,” you will be directed to the next screen. Do not make any item selections on this page. Simply click the checkout button (lower right) to complete the payment process.

The University parking policy restricts all parking on the Park Avenue Campus to vehicles with a valid commuter student or faculty permit between the hours of 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during the academic year. Residential students are required to walk or use the shuttle system during these hours.
