Compassion of the Heart
March 22-27, 2026

Social Justice Week | Sacred Heart University

The mission of Social Justice Week (SJW) is to create a campus-wide week of events with support from various departments and organizations who can use their strengths and areas of expertise to educate the campus community on social justice issues.

In alignment with Sacred Heart's Catholic intellectual tradition, our campus endeavors to foster student activism, allowing individuals to embody the principles of social justice before entering the broader world by participating in the various events throughout the week. Through immersive experiences and engaged learning opportunities, we encourage students to embrace empathy, critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving. By grounding our efforts in the values of compassion and service, we empower students to advocate for equity and justice while embodying the spirit of our institution.

La Hispanidad is eager to sponsor SJW and ensure that it's a collaborative celebration across the SHU community.
