The Agape Center for Human Dignity is a space grounded in Sacred Heart’s Catholic mission that celebrates the dignity and worth of every individual. It’s all about creating a welcoming campus culture, where encounter and inclusion are at the core.

In the Gospels, the Greek word “Agape” indicates the unconditional and outpouring love of God, the same love we recognize in our school’s name, Sacred Heart. This center will empower Pioneers to encounter each other with integrity, gain knowledge and practice the key skills of intentional reflection and courageous civil discourse that are central to the Pioneer Journey and the strength of our community.

The center is a welcoming environment that affirms the intrinsic worth of every individual. Rooted in the University’s Catholic mission and identity, it promotes open dialogue, mutual respect and a culture of belonging for all students while recognizing human dignity as universal and inalienable.

The Agape Center offers a wide range of services and programs and is open to all and focused on affirming the inherent value and inviolable dignity of every individual. Consistent with Sacred Heart University’s Catholic mission and identity, the center promotes open dialogue, mutual respect and a culture of belonging for all students—regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, religion or other protected characteristics.

The Agape Center for Human Dignity supports our Unity Clubs and organizations—student-led groups that enrich the Pioneer Journey through shared dialogue, mutual respect and events that bring the campus community together. These clubs explore shared experiences, promote social justice and foster community through programming that reflects Sacred Heart University’s commitment to the dignity of every person.
