Earth Day Celebration!

A wide array of vendors and campus organizations joined us to celebrate our Common Home in celebration of Earth Day. The event featured a recitation of poetry by the 2026/2027 St. Brigid Student Poet Laureate Maria Clara Bragagnolo Rose (pictured).

The Arrogant Ape: The Myth of Human Exceptionalism and Why it Matters

Today many people believe that humans are the most intelligent, virtuous, successful species that ever lived. In this book talk, NYU primatologist Christine Webb will outline how human exceptionalism is an ideology that relies more on human culture than our biology, exposing many scientific studies’ biases against other species and revealing underappreciated complexities of nonhuman life. The guest speaker will be Christine Webb of Harvard University.

Wellness Walks

Led in collaboration with SHU Fit, these 30-minute walks will took place every Thursday at 12:15 p.m. Meet us at the Laudato Si’ Prayer Garden (outside Pios Kitchen on the first floor of the west building at West Campus) where we will begin with a prayer and then head to the walking paths. Let’s walk together toward wellness, connection and care for our common home!

Letting Go with Sound Healing

A meditative sound session featuring crystal and Himalayan bowls, chimes, gongs, drums, bells, flutes and more. Led by certified instructor Diane Barnett of Grounded Meditation.

Fall Into Flowers

A campus planting event before the weather gets cold! We will provide small pots, soil and seeds for planting. Come celebrate the season, connect with nature and bring a little greenery into your space.

Movie Screening: The Wild Robot

Following a shipwreck, a robot named Roz becomes stranded on a remote island and is forced to learn how to survive in the wild. If you are curious about what happens to her or the unexpected bonds she forms with the animals around her, make a date to watch The Wild Robot with us in the Martire Theater.
