International Education Week (IEW) is a nationwide celebration November 17-21 that highlights the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. SHU will be celebrating throughout the month of November! Higher education institutions across the U.S. take part in this event every year. The goals of IEW are to promote international understanding by building support for international education and by encouraging the development of programs that prepare Americans to live and work in a global environment, highlighting the importance of being a global citizen.

2-3 p.m. | Kristallnacht Commemoration | Chapel of the Holy Spirit
Kristallnacht was a pre-WWII act of aggression perpetrated by Germany’s Nazi paramilitary, the Hitler Youth and German citizens in November 1938. Sponsored by the Human Journey Colloquia Series, Mission & Culture and Chaverim Yehudim (Jewish Club). All are welcome. The event can also be viewed online: Kristallnacht livestream link

Stay for a while or stop by briefly to make a postcard to send to a SHU student currently abroad. Enjoy hot apple cider, donuts, cookies, and international snacks while connecting with Global Ambassadors and asking any questions about the study abroad process!

Join Campus Ministry staff and Interfaith Chaplains for a SHU Community Thanksgiving Prayer Service! We will give thanks, bless the food donated during the Thanksgiving Food drive, share prayers and song, and welcome community partners who will be on hand to accept food donations.
7 p.m. | Measuring the Career Impact of Education Abroad - AFS Webinar Series (Virtual)
This session introduces a series of unprecedented, coordinated research projects that form Education Abroad: The Career Catalyst. This ambitious, field-wide effort is led by The Forum on Education Abroad and supported by major global education partners. You will learn about: (1) Career Outcomes: Findings from the largest known career-focused survey of education abroad alumni to assess how the experience shaped their professional trajectories; (2) Salary Data: Comparative analysis from four flagship public universities measuring starting salaries for business majors who studied abroad versus those who did not; (3) Economic Impact: Results from a new U.S.-focused economic impact study, including state-level data, demonstrating how education abroad adds tangible value to employers and the economy; (4) Skills Mapping: New projects mapping student experiences (like blog posts) to the specific skills they develop while abroad, (5) Employer Value: Data gathered in partnership with NACE on how employers truly value education abroad for talent and skill development.
