Past Events

National Tutor Week | October 6-10, 2025

National Tutor Appreciation Week is a week-long celebration that highlights the crucial role tutors play in students’ educational journey. At Sacred Heart University, we also recognize our Peer Assisted Learners (PALs) and Peer Teaching Assistants (PTAs) in addition to our Welch/HINF Classroom Learning Assistants (CLAs). The annual event is taking place this year from October 6-10, 2025. The CTL is organizing numerous events to acknowledge and show gratitude to its tutors/PALs/PTAs/CLAs and raise awareness of CTL learning support services. Learn more about the activities we are holding below.

The “Study Buddy” Tutor Sandwich (October 6-10)

In recognition of our tutors/PALs/PTAs/CLAs, we have crafted "The Study Buddy" featuring grilled chicken, Vermont cheddar cheese, arugula, tomato avocado, and cilantro lime aioli on a flour tortilla. The "Study Buddy” tutor sandwich will be available at 63’s, Pios Kitchen and JP’s Diner.

Thank a Tutor (October 8)

There will be a table located in front of 63's on the main campus where students can fill out a form to express gratitude towards a tutor/PAL/PTA who has assisted them during their academic journey. Once completed, we will send the messages to the tutors/PALs/PTAs/CLAs. As a token of our appreciation, students will receive a complimentary Kernel Pop stress ball.

Popcorn Event (October 9)

Students can pop into the Martire Atrium and learn about the PASS Portal and all the Center for Teaching & Learning's academic support services. Students can grab a bag of popcorn, play games and hear how we can help them.
