Meet the Panelists

Larry CohenLarry Cohen

Larry Cohen is a data strategist with more than 20 years of experience specializing in analytics within artificial intelligence and machine learning. He has taught in Sacred Heart University’s Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program for the past four years, leading courses in AI for business and data mining. Cohen is recognized as a thought leader in AI, with a strong record of publishing and presenting on key topics for organizations including Salesforce, Forrester, eMarketer and the American Marketing Association.

Tim KeyesTim Keyes, Ph.D.

Tim Keyes is an analytics leader with more than 30 years of experience in risk analytics, data science and environmental research. He spent over two decades at General Electric as senior risk analytics manager and later founded Evergreen Business Analytics, LLC, where he consults with banks and nonprofit organizations. Keyes is a published researcher, an inventor with 17 patents and an expedition leader exploring air and water quality across the Northeast. He has taught in Sacred Heart University’s Jack Welch College of Business & Technology since 2019, leading courses in pricing and revenue analytics, econometrics and data visualization.

Syed OsmanSyed M. I. Osman, Ph.D.

Syed M. I. Osman is a tenured associate professor of finance (business analytics) at Sacred Heart University. Before joining Sacred Heart, he served as an economist at Amazon in Seattle, where he developed causal and predictive machine learning models across several teams. Osman’s research has been published in engineering, finance and economics journals, including IEEE Access, Machine Learning with Applications, Finance Research Letters and Global Finance Journal.

Charles TorreCharles J. Torre Jr., MSHA

Charles (Charlie) J. Torre Jr. is vice president of digital technology services and chief data and analytics officer for Yale New Haven Health. He has been with Yale New Haven Hospital and the Yale health care system for 39 years, serving in various information systems, technology and decision support roles.

Torre oversees enterprise analytics, data architecture and governance, population health, and database administration for Oracle, SQL, Cache, NFS and the High-Performance Compute Platform (CHP). He leads internal AI and predictive modeling initiatives using the CHP and Yale New Haven Health’s HIPAA-compliant Azure environment. Torre also develops strategic plans for enterprise analytics and architecture, AI and precision medicine analytics.

He manages and supports the ongoing development of clinical, financial and operational enterprise analytics and data warehouse, the computational health platform and the Epic Caboodle data warehouse. His responsibilities include ensuring data standardization, quality, integrity, HIPAA compliance and Sarbanes-Oxley financial controls. Torre evaluates, prioritizes and coordinates analytics development across the health system, identifying opportunities to enhance patient care, improve efficiency, reduce costs and increase organizational performance.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in information systems from Quinnipiac University and a Master of Science in healthcare administration from the University of New Haven.
