“Homecoming is one of the most cherished traditions that SHU has each year and it is always so amazing to see our alumni come back year after year with friends, families and future Pioneers,” said Rob Gilmore, executive director of alumni engagement & events. “This year will be no exception. It will be a spirited weekend for all of us to remember why we are Pioneers and why we love this institution so much.”

FAQs
Can I preregister?
Yes! Online registration runs through November 5, with on-site registration available during Homecoming Weekend. If you wait, however, you may miss out. Some events sell out quickly during preregistration.
Can I bring my kids?
You sure can. We have events throughout the weekend that everyone can enjoy, from those geared toward future Pioneers to those who have already blazed their trail and are decades out from graduation.
What about my dog?
We bet your dog is the greatest. However, for Homecoming Weekend, the only animals allowed on campus are approved service animals.
What’s the dress code?
Break out that garb that shows your pride in your alma mater. However, if you are lacking in threads that celebrate SHU, you can visit the bookstore throughout the weekend to pick up some swag that reveals your enduring school spirit. Worried about rain? Well, we hope for sunny weather, and most of the events are rain or shine. If we get a few drops, grab that umbrella and raincoat—you’ll still have fun, we promise!
Where can I park?
We’ll have a space for you! Parking information and details will be sent via email to participants the week of Homecoming. You’re also invited to climb aboard the shuttle to make your way around campus to the weekend’s festivities.
I loved my time at SHU. How can I translate that joy into a gift?
Before you head back home, take the opportunity to meet with the SHU advancement team to discover ways to make the biggest difference for future students at SHU.
Where do I check in?
Check-in and registration open on the first day of the festivities, Friday, November 7, from 1 to 6 p.m. Late to the party? Guests can check in from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday November 8, at McMahon Commons first-floor presentation room.
Has something come up?
Refunds for certain preregistered events will be granted until October 31. Tickets purchased for hockey and football games cannot be reimbursed.
Time to celebrate!
As part of the many activities, you’ll have a chance to celebrate the 2025 Young Alumni (2010-15) Awards presented by the SHU Alumni Association. These awards will highlight the significant contributions that SHU young alumni have made in their professions and communities. The School of Communication, Media & the Arts will also be hosting its annual awards event.
Homecoming brings together a unique mix of people with shared experiences and connections—all of whom get a chance to remember where they came from and often discover something new about the place they called home. So, instead of a text with a vague promise that you’ll “catch up soon,” why not make real plans to reconnect with your old crew at a football tailgate, special luncheon, hockey game, volleyball competition, theatrical performance, music event, Mass or family event (check out all the events on the Homecoming schedule).
Once a Pio, always a Pio!
