Congratulations on your admission to Sacred Heart University! Now it’s time to get the inside scoop on what being a Pioneer is all about. Admitted Student Days are your chance to explore campus and get a real feel for life at SHU—in the classroom and beyond.

We’ve got several Admitted Student Days coming up this spring that you won’t want to miss. You’ll get a warm welcome, an insider’s look at academics, campus and residence halls and more. Plus, you’ll get to meet your future classmates—the Class of 2030!

Got questions? Don’t worry, we’ve got answers. We can’t wait to welcome you to campus and help kick off your amazing Pioneer journey.

Make sure to stay connected with us on Instagram and TikTok to get the latest news about admitted student sessions.

What can I expect during Admitted Student Day?

We have packed the day with immersive and exciting experiences to help you make the most of your visit. We’ll kick things off with a student life and resources fair at our newly renovated William Pitt Athletic & Convocation Center. Next up is a warm welcome, where you’ll get an overview of the day ahead.

Come early for a Club Sports Meet & Greet starting at 8:30 a.m. Representatives from many of our 34 club sports will be on hand to answer your questions. Get to know some of your prospective new teammates.

From there, you have many options! Explore campus and residence halls through ongoing tours. Visit the Center for Career & Professional Development and other campus hubs.

Want to dig deeper into your major or program? During major-specific sessions at our Park Avenue Campus, West Campus and Center for Healthcare Education, you’ll get an inside look into your major or program of interest. You’ll get a tour of the top-notch facilities where current students work and study, and you’ll get a feel for the courses, research opportunities, dedicated faculty and unique programs that make each department stand out. Plus, this is your chance to ask about internships, study abroad and all the other academic experiences we offer. Don’t miss the chance to chat with faculty about resources and support to help you thrive at SHU.

Who can attend?

You, of course! And students are welcome to bring their families to experience SHU and ask questions.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing and shoes are key given the opportunities you’ll have to explore and get a feel for what life is like on campus. During campus tours, current students will show you the ins and outs of SHU life, including where you might study, where you’ll eat, where you’ll live and where you’ll socialize with fellow Pioneers.

Of course, you could always complement your look with some SHU threads while you are here. The SHU Bookstore will be open—don’t forget to use your Future Pioneer discount for 20% off one item.

What do I need to bring?

Questions, questions and lots of questions, plus all your excitement about starting this next chapter in your life.

What will I learn?

During the day, representatives from many departments at SHU will be on hand to answer questions about financial aid, undergraduate admissions and career & professional development. You can ask about next steps, clarify concerns and maybe even make your official commitment to become a Pioneer.

Come with your questions to the Q&A sessions with honors & residential life and commuter life panels.

Will I get to spend time with my future classmates?

Yes. Throughout the day, you’ll all share in experiencing SHU’s activities, facilities, academics and services. Before you head home, we’ll help you to fuel up and connect with your future classmates at a farewell social, complete with lunch, delicious snacks and a coffee bar.

What if I can't make it to Admitted Student Day?

No worries. A series of live student chats will take place in March and April, along with near daily information sessions and campus tour offerings. You can learn more about these opportunities by visiting SHU’s live student chats webpage.

Is SHU the place for you?

Admitted student days are all about helping you figure out if SHU is the right fit for you—and having fun while doing it. Connecting with other students, talking with faculty, exploring residence halls, checking out the campus and learning about activities and events are all great ways to take steps toward your next big chapter.

Ready to commit?

Deposit centers will be conveniently located in the Martire Family Arena on West Campus and in Curtis Hall and Valentine Health & Recreation Center on the Park Avenue Campus. Make a deposit and celebrate with a confetti popper!
