Sacred Heart University clinical assistant professor Rhonda Tower-Siddens was one of 35 faculty members across the country to be selected to participate in the 2019 American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Apple Digital Innovation Bootcamp: From Content to Action conference.

According to its website, the AACN is the national voice for academic nursing representing 825 schools of nursing nationwide. It establishes quality standards for nursing education and much more.

The AACN launched the bootcamp as a way to provide new opportunities for nursing faculty to leverage the latest technology to enhance learning in the classroom, laboratory, online and clinical settings. The intensive three-day program will allow faculty to learn from Apple development executives and educators about leading technologies in higher education. Attendees will leave with hands-on experience using new, innovative and engaging digital content tools and a personal learning network from peer support. They will enjoy sessions on preparing digital content, developing iOS mobile apps and multi-touch books and creating an engaging learning environment.

After a competitive application process completed by more than 130 nursing faculty and staff, only 35 nursing faculty members were chosen. Tower-Siddens will attend the conference with faculty from institutions such as Loyola University Chicago, John Hopkins University, New York University and others.
