Eric C. Nemec II, founding director of research and assessment at Sacred Heart University and associate professor in the College of Health Professions’ department of physician assistant studies, has been appointed to the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
The ARC-PA is the nationally recognized accrediting agency that sets and maintains educational standards for physician assistant programs across the United States. Nemec’s three-year term as a commissioner will begin in January.
A board-certified clinical pharmacist and accomplished health professions educator, Nemec brings a distinctive interprofessional perspective to the commission’s work, uniting the fields of pharmacy, physician assistant and medical education. His appointment cements his national leadership role in health professions education and ongoing commitment to advancing interprofessional collaboration and academic excellence.
“Serving as an ARC-PA commissioner is genuinely meaningful to me not only because it represents a new level of professional trust, but also because it bridges two worlds—health care and education—I care deeply about,” said Nemec.
Sacred Heart is committed to innovation, partnership and excellence in preparing the next generation of health care leaders. Nemec’s appointment will enable him to help uphold these standards nationwide.
“I see this as an opportunity to give back to a profession that has welcomed me,” said Nemec. “I hope my perspective allows me to serve thoughtfully and with humility and gratitude for the trust placed in me. I’m most grateful for the chance to contribute meaningfully to an outstanding community of educators and clinicians.”
