Nine Faculty Members Obtain Tenure, Promotions
Excellence rewarded among public health, physical therapy, physician assistant, nursing, management and computer science faculty
One faculty member at Sacred Heart University has earned tenure, and eight others have received promotions as SHU nears the end of its 2020-2021 academic year.
Tenure
Jacqueline Vernarelli of Monroe, assistant professor of public health, has earned tenure. Vernarelli is a nutritional epidemiologist and public health nutritionist who studies how diet and lifestyle influence health status. She also serves as director of research education and consultation for SHU’s College of Health Professions. Prior to coming to Sacred Heart, she held academic appointments at Fairfield University and Pennsylvania State University, where she was also a member of the Penn State Population Research Institute. She consults and has served as an expert witness for various statistical and nutrition-related projects.
