Honor a Person or Business in the SHU Community Theatre’s ‘Name a Seat Campaign’
Patrons can honor loved ones or businesses with inscribed plaque on a theatre seat
Sacred Heart University supporters, the general community and theatre lovers can show lasting support for SHU’s new theatre in downtown Fairfield through the recently launched “Name a Seat Campaign.”
Individuals, families and local businesses can leave their mark on the theatre with personalized messages inscribed on a plaque that will be placed on the back of a theatre seat. It is a way for community members to show their support and to promote their businesses, celebrate or honor a loved one or mark a special day. Each plaque informs patrons of the community’s backing of the theatre and also funds the production of exceptional entertainment, as well as educational and youth programs.
“We know how much the theatre means to the Fairfield community and beyond,” said Bill Harris, theatre director. “We are thrilled to finally open its doors after a 10-year hiatus and offer an array of entertainment. This seat-naming campaign will enable us to enhance programming while honoring our amazing, dedicated patrons and local businesses. The theatre appreciates the community’s support and the way it has welcomed us back. We are dedicated to cinema, performance and education.”
There are three options in the campaign:
- $1,000 per plaque for orchestra seats (57 available)
- $500 per plaque for main seating (311 available)
- $250 per plaque for seats in the balcony level (51 available)
Each plaque will measure 1” high by 3” wide and may be engraved over two lines. Names of seat donors will be listed on the theatre’s donor roll in its annual report. All seat-naming contributions are 100% tax-deductible. Names will remain for the serviceable life of the seat or until it is replaced.
