College of Health Professions Greets New Faculty
New staff to teach anatomy, patient assessment, radiography and other aspects of health care
Sacred Heart University’s College of Health Professions (CHP) has eight new faculty members to aid students in their studies and practicing their skills in cutting-edge labs.
The CHP offers research and practice-driven programs for the most in-demand health-care fields. Faculty members also assist students as they apply for internships and travel the world with SHU’s global health program.
The new faculty members are:
Charles Beverley, visiting assistant professor, healthcare informatics
Teaching responsibilities: Health informatics, administrative and clinical software applications, healthcare systems acquisition and evidence-based medicine
Personal fact: Beverley enjoys traveling and sports
Michael Chase, clinical assistant professor, physician assistant studies
Teaching responsibilities: Principles of medicine, diagnostic medicine, emergency medicine and family medicine and anatomy lab
Personal fact: Chase has an identical twin who is a lawyer
Elizabeth Downes, clinical assistant professor, physician assistant studies
Teaching responsibilities: Hematology unit within principles of medicine, patient assessment lab, anatomy, primary care and clinical elective
Personal fact: Downes has attended five Olympic Games
Annie Froschl, clinical instructor, health science
Teaching responsibility: Radiography
Personal fact: Born in Hungary and raised in the United States, Froschl loves her heritage
Patricia Lewis, clinical assistant professor, public health
Teaching responsibilities: Sociology of health and illness and community and public health
Personal fact: Lewis enjoys bird-watching in her free time, especially when she spots one of her favorite birds, the double-crested cormorant
Tobi Ojo, visiting clinical assistant professor, healthcare informatics
Teaching responsibilities: Electronic health records and clinical and business intelligence
Personal fact: Ojo loves to sing with his 2-year-old daughter
Susan Ronan, clinical associate professor, physical therapy
Teaching responsibilities: Pediatrics and acute care
Personal fact: Ronan is a huge science fiction fan and has been to the Star Trek original series set museum three times
Caitlin Zimyeski, clinical assistant professor, communication disorders
Teaching responsibilities: Screening and diagnostics, clinical practicum, clinical seminar and introduction to communication disorders lab
Personal fact: Zimyeski collects pins from all around the world
