Tomitha Zimmerman is a licensed clinical social worker associate for Lee County Schools in Sanford, NC. Tomitha is a first-generation college graduate and former military spouse. Being an Ohio native she earned an MSW from The Ohio State University with a concentration in families and children. She holds a BSW from University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where she was a member of the Phi Alpha National Social Work Honor Society. Her expertise is in school-based social work, adolescent psychoeducation and mindfulness. She is an active community member, serves on multiple boards and is a National Association of Social Work of NC member. She enjoys reading, going to the beach and spending family time with her four sons and husband.
Research Interests
Tomitha’s research is focused on youth homelessness in higher education.
