Latasha Sarpy
LaTasha Sarpy is a Boston native. She is a professor and chair of the behavioral sciences department at Bunker Hill Community College, where she teaches Sociology. LaTasha is actively creating an associate's degree in Social Work program to create pathways for students to enter the field of Social Work. LaTasha earned her BA in Criminal Justice and MA in Applied Sociology from the University of Massachusetts Boston. She earned her MSW from Wheelock College (now Boston University) and a doctorate in Law and Public Policy from Northeastern University. LaTasha is a Licensed Independent Clinical social worker and co-owns a private practice with her husband, a licensed mental health counselor. LaTasha serves on multiple boards, is an active community member, and is the founder of a Boston-based reading program. LaTasha is interested in researching racialized trauma and investigating its assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. LaTasha's most fulfilling role is the mom to three children ages 14, 7 and 4. When she is not reading, writing, or talking, LaTasha enjoys boxing, taking walks, eating and game night with her immediate and extended family.
