Debra Williams
Debra Williams is a licensed clinical social worker in the District of Columbia and Maryland. She is experienced in the areas of child welfare, crisis intervention, gerontology, medical and mental health services in both outpatient and inpatient settings. In the past, she has provided outreach and care coordination of individuals with comorbid health and mental health conditions as a social worker for Medicaid managed care organizations. Her primary field has been in mental health, providing inpatient psychiatric services, emergency psychiatric evaluations, youth crisis intervention and assertive community treatment to chronically mentally ill adults. Currently, she assists patients in improving physical and mental health outcomes and minimizing inequalities by addressing social determinants of health at MedStar Medical Group and Georgetown University Family Residency clinic. She provides short-term solution focused and cognitive behavioral therapy to patients experiencing anxiety, depression or adjustment issues. She will be transitioning to work in a clinical counseling center to address child abuse, spousal abuse, family dynamics and military lifestyle adjustment issues with military families in the District of Columbia.
