Thank you for your interest in applying to Sacred Heart University’s Associate of Science in Nursing program.
Below are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.

FAQs
- Official transcripts from all previous colleges and/or universities attended must be provided for the application
- All students who wish to receive academic credit for coursework taken at a foreign university will have to provide a course-by-course evaluation issued by WES, ECE, FIS, TEC or by any other accredited organization listed on NACES. In addition to the course-by-course evaluation, an official description of each university course must be provided in English
- Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges or universities must be submitted to enroll@sacredheart.edu or mailed to: Undergraduate Admissions, Sacred Heart University, 5151 Park Avenue, Fairfield, CT 06825
Applicants may submit an unofficial transcript to expedite review of the application while official transcript requests are in process. All official transcripts must be received by Undergraduate Admissions before classes begin.
- Human Anatomy & Physiology I*
- 4 credits, B- or better within 5 years of application
- Human Anatomy & Physiology II*
- 4 credits, B- or better within 5 years of application
- Microbiology*
- 4 credits, B- or better within 5 years of application
- Math for Nursing (taken at SHU)
- 3 credits, C+ or better within 5 years of application
- Or College Algebra accepted

*Cannot be taken fully online and labs must be in-person
Prerequisite coursework is not required for admission. Admitted students must complete required prerequisites prior to enrollment in Nursing 101.
The AS in Nursing offers two deadlines for two entry terms:
- June 1 deadline for coursework beginning in the Fall (August)
- December 1 deadline for coursework beginning in the Spring (January)
Note that nursing courses for the program only begin in the fall.
