Why Earn Your Minor in History at Sacred Heart?

Students with a minor in history will have a better understanding of how the present is connected to the past and will develop the ability to research, think critically, solve complex problems and present ideas clearly, all of which can be beneficial in any profession.

The 18-credit history minor offers flexibility for students to pursue courses that align with their own interests while also offering AP credit, transfer credit and study abroad credit.

  • Take six history courses (18.0 credits)
  • Up to two AP courses (with a 4 or 5 test score) will count for up to 6 credits toward the minor
  • Core courses count toward minor
  • Up to six credits outside SHU will count toward the minor (including study abroad and transfer credits)
