Admission Requirements
The MCCJ program has a fall entry.
Prerequisites
Education
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in criminal justice, criminology, sociology, psychology, or a related field. Applicants from other disciplines may be considered if they demonstrate sufficient preparation in the social and behavioral sciences.
A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required for full admission. Applicants with a GPA below 3.0 may be considered for conditional admission.
Experience
Professional experience in criminal justice or related fields is not required for admission. However, experience in law enforcement, corrections, courts, victim services, social services, or related areas may strengthen the application. Applicants with significant professional experience may be considered for admission even if their academic background is nontraditional, provided they demonstrate readiness for graduate study.
