Criteria to Progress to the Master of Arts/Fine Arts in Film & Television Production

Dual degree students must meet program-specific guidelines to progress through the dual degree program and enroll in the FTMA/FTMFA program.

• Successful completion of the bachelor’s degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to matriculate into the FTMA/FTMFA program
• Grade of B or better in any graduate program courses taken during undergraduate study 
• Submission of a two-page personal statement addressing the following questions:
  • Why are you applying to the FTMA program at Sacred Heart University?
  • What are your artistic goals?
  • What issues and subjects inform your art-making practice?
• Submission of a Five Works Essay including brief comments on five works (films, books, plays, television shows, etc.) that you feel have influenced your thoughts as a filmmaker/video artist.
• Submission of a visual work sample such as video, photography (stills) or script/screenplay.
