Heart Challenges Hate aims to respond with knowledge, informed and reasoned discourse, faith and reason to the prevalence of hatred, bigotry and violence we are experiencing in America today. It is our assumption and responsibility as a Catholic university to speak against the injustice and violence.

Bystander Intervention Training

The Office for Inclusive Excellence presents a hands-on training session aimed at empowering students, faculty and staff to effectively support free speech on campus while fostering a respectful and inclusive community. This program equips participants with the skills to intervene constructively when free speech might lead to tension, misunderstanding or conflict. Facilitator: Freda Grant, Ph.D.
Inclusive Conversation on Free Speech

The Office for Inclusive Excellence invites students, faculty, staff and the broader community to an engaging and thought-provoking conversation exploring the intersections of free speech, inclusion and respect in academic and public discourse. As an institution committed to fostering critical thinking and open dialogue, this program provides a space to examine how free speech can coexist with a commitment to creating inclusive and respectful environments. Speakers include Freda Grant, Ph.D., Deirdra Preis, Ed.D. and Oyin Williams.
