WSHU Classical Music Production Assistant

What happens behind the scenes at a public radio station to play music on-air and online? How does WSHU foster connection through music across Connecticut and Long Island? Be part of the team who makes it happen as a WSHU classical music production assistant.

Candidates will be:

  • Curious about classical music and musicians
  • Excited about details with down-to-the-second specificity
  • Committed to regular weekly hours
  • Comfortable working independently and speaking up with questions as they arise

Location

All work takes place in person at WSHU Public Radio. There is not a remote work option.

Responsibilities

  • Audio editing, including editing excerpts from podcasts for broadcast on air
  • Researching and organizing information about upcoming concerts by performing arts organizations in Connecticut and Long Island
  • Assisting the music production department in preparing daily classical music programming
  • Maintaining organization in the CD library
  • Preferred qualifications, though not required:
    • Working towards a music degree at SHU
    • Familiarity or open to learning Adobe Audition software
