IDEA Lab Staff

IDEA Lab Staff members help people make use of, and maintain, the Lab. This includes everything from assisting visitors with training and certification ("badging"), providing supervision, and cleaning and organizing all the equipment in the makerspace.

Location

This position is on site in the IDEA Lab (no remote work).

Responsibilities

  • Experience with makerspace projects (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, C/C++, Python, 3D printing, Inkscape, GIMP, Fusion 360, KiCAD, FlatCAM, OpenPNP, Laser cutting, CNC, etc.), as well as occasional availability outside of your schedule (including weekends), a plus but not required.

Data Analyst

The data analyst will help analyze our extensive data collection for sports data. This position will require using Microsoft Excel, and Google Spreadsheets, and pulling data from various websites. Most work will be remote, with occasional in-person meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Use the already-developed Google Spreadsheet Dashboard to post weekly data
  • Pull data from various sources like WHOOP and Catapult
  • Coding knowledge is not required
  • General knowledge of sports data analytics will be helpful

Location

This position allows for remote work.

5 hours per week

Drone Programmer/Engineer

The engineering program has many drone platforms that are for swarming and autonomous operations. This position will require the worker to unbox newly attained drone kits and follow well-established tutorials to evaluate the drone's performance. Once the tutorials are completed (it might take close to a month or two), workers will develop new tutorials or workshops using these drone platforms. Prior programming knowledge is preferred but optional.

Responsibilities

Programming drones for swarming and autonomous operations (prior coding knowledge is preferred but not required)

  • Consistent weekly schedule
  • Weekly short meetings with the supervisor

Expected Hours

6 hours per week

Gaming/Network Lab Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage the aforementioned lab during your scheduled hours
  • Assist students in the lab with equipment, etc.
  • Keep lab clean and sanitary

Expected Hours

Up to 8 hours per week

Job Requirements

  • Must be an undergraduate CS major
  • Dependable student who is positive, professional and resourceful
  • Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills
