CHP Student Success Work Study

Assists the academic advising team in their programming initiatives, focusing on the 7 Dimensions of Wellness, throughout the academic year. This position will also assist in utilizing social media to share important information and advertise specific events. This position is fully in person. Students are expected to work their assigned hours at the Center for Healthcare Education (CHE).

Responsibilities

  • Set up and help run programs in CHE focused on different elements of Wellness
  • Create content to be posted on CHP’s social media accounts
  • Contribute to event planning and marketing
  • Support academic advising initiatives
  • General administrative duties as assigned

Student Assistant CHP/RN Simulation

This position involves being creative and hands on, using computer to help prepare and work with universities simulations.

Responsibilities

  • Using Microsoft products
  • Ability to understand hands on activities when explained or accompanied
  • Helping to work with and organize simulation information and equipment

Assistant with Large Data

Seeking a student who is interested in gaining experience working with large quantitative data sets. The student will assist a health science professor in preparing a large data set for analysis. Specifically, the researcher is utilizing data from the FBI’s National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) to estimate a series of models that examine the effects of the duration of COVID-19 stay-at-home orders on non-lethal assaults against women. The student worker will assist the researcher in categorizing and cleaning the data set. This project is specific for the fall semester, but a spring semester position can be negotiated for additional data prep work on other research projects.

Responsibilities

The student’s primary duty will be that of data entry. The student will receive training specific to the data set, but the following broadly characterize the expected activities:

  • Entering population estimates from data sources into compiled data set in MS Excel
  • Compiling, verifying accuracy and sorting information to prepare data for analysis
  • Reviewing data for deficiencies or errors, correcting any incompatibilities

Job Requirements

  • Basic computational skills (not necessary to have higher than basic college math)
  • Experience with MS Office, particularly MS Excel
  • Attention to detail
  • Organization skills, with an ability to stay focused on assigned tasks

Expected Hours

4-7 hours per week

Location

Hybrid – Some hours will be spent working on campus with professor, particularly during initial training. Eventual remote work might be available based on performance.

Health Science Department Office Assistant

Assisting Health Science department's faculty and staff as needed. There will likely be no remote work for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Filing/copying/scanning
  • Assisting with special events
  • Assisting with Health Science department social media account/s
  • Creating flyers/posters

Job Requirements

  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to follow directions and work under supervision
  • Experience working with computer programs and apps

Expected Hours

6-8 hours per week

Administrative Support to Dean of College of Health Professions

This position will involve working directly with Dean, Associate Dean, Executive Director of Student Experience and the Administrative Assistants in the Dean's office. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance as you will be working with confidential documents.
Some of the assignments can be done remotely.

  • Organize files
  • Copy materials
  • Research topics via literature or webpage review
  • Assist in organization of events
  • Copying (non-confidential) forms or documents
  • Scanning of books and other scanning requests
  • Miscellaneous projects (e.g., organize supply closet; make a list of supplies needed)
  • Filing and making tabs for files
  • Running errands (i.e., drop-offs to or pick-ups from mailroom, cashier or copy center)
