Lab Assistant

Lab Technician/Assistant will be responsible for assisting lab preparations necessary for experiments. This involves preparing solutions, setting up glassware, equipment, and instrumentation, cleaning lab benches/fume hoods/glassware and testing of lab safety equipment.

Location

This position does not offer remote work.

Responsibilities

• Applicants must have completed two semesters of general chemistry (I & II) at the university level. Chemistry majors preferred.
• Preparing solutions and chemicals
• Setting up glassware and equipment for lab experiments
• Setting up any instrumentation needed for the lab
• General cleaning (putting away all lab materials, washing glassware, washing down lab benches and fume hoods)
• General maintenance of the labs (filling distilled water jugs, wash bottles, paper towel/soap dispensers)

Expected Hours

5 hours per week

Office Assistant

Student will perform a variety of clerical as well as some research tasks for faculty in the Department of Chemistry and Physics.

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct guests to the department
• Organize files
• Copying and scanning documents
• Re-stock paper, kitchen and office supplies 
• Run errands
• Organize and supply faculty with forms
• Assist faculty as needed

Expected Hours

6-8 hours per week
