Sacristan/Mass Assistant/Music Ministry Team

Sacristans help set up for Catholic Mass and other prayer services in several ways in a variety of locations on campus.

Serving as a Mass Assistant includes working directly with the priest to prepare for the liturgy by identifying the readings for the day, lighting candles, preparing hosts, water, wine, linens, keeping an inventory of supplies and reverently putting things away after each service. Does not offer remote work.

Expected Hours

2-4 hours per week

Responsibilities

• To support Sunday Liturgy either 11 a.m. (work 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) or 7 p.m. (work 6:30-8:30 p.m.)
• To assist Catholic Mass Monday-Friday at 12:30 p.m. (work 12:15-1:15 p.m.)
• Organize inventory of supplies for a variety of services
• Support for Music Ministry can include administrative work, participation in choir and/or playing a musical instrument
• Other duties as assigned
