Federal and State Grants
Eligible students who complete a FAFSA will be considered for federal and state need-based grants, including the Federal Pell Grant and the CT Roberta B. Willis Scholarship Grant Program. These grants are available to undergraduate students who are U.S. citizens or permanent resident aliens who complete a FAFSA and who demonstrate financial need. Award amounts vary based on the student’s level of financial need and enrollment status (such as half-time or full-time).
University Assistance
There are a variety of University-funded aid programs available to support students enrolled on a part-time basis.
Miller Adult Education Scholarship
An endowed award offered to undergraduate part-time adult students who demonstrate financial need beyond what is covered by traditional financial aid. To be eligible, students must be enrolled at least half-time each semester, and the scholarship applies to on-campus part-time students only. Award amounts vary.
University Special Programs & Partnerships
Sacred Heart University offers Special Programs & Partnerships as a form of financial assistance. By collaborating with schools, employers and community groups, these programs provide tuition discounts to eligible students. University Special Programs & Partnerships reflect SHU’s commitment to reducing financial barriers and expanding opportunities for all learners. Learn more about University Partnerships on our dedicated webpage.
Outside Scholarships
The Office of Student Financial Assistance regularly receives notifications of outside scholarship opportunities and posts them to the SFA website. These outside scholarships can provide valuable additional support to help cover educational expenses such as tuition, fees, and other costs, supplementing the financial aid students may already receive.
