Graduate Assistant for Student Conduct & Community Standards

Supports the Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards by assisting as a conduct case manager, monitoring students’ progression and successful completion of sanctions, and creating prevention and educational programming.

  • Part-time (20 hours per week)
  • Compensation:
    • $12,000 tuition waiver
    • $3,000 stipend
    • $1,000 meal plan

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist as a case manager for allegations of non-academic policy violations for the university: oversee case creation, adjudication, and maintenance for incidents that occur both on- and off-campus
  • Utilize case management system to monitor students’ progression and successful completion of assigned cases
  • Develop and implement developmental sanctions such as restorative practices, drug and alcohol education, and reflection
  • Collaborate with conduct hearing officers to determine alleged violations of policy and determine sanctions within institutional guidelines 
  • Communicate with students and family members regarding policy violations and sanctions
  • Assist with creation of prevention and educational programming for residential students
  • Collaborate with university partners including but not limited to Residence Life, Public Safety, Counseling, and Title IX
  • Develop and maintain media for Office of Student Conduct including website and social media
  • Serve on selected department and university committees, including but not limited to the Student Care Team and Incident Response Team
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Knowledge & Skills Needed

  • State minimum formal education level and specialization necessary.  State additional professional or technical knowledge or years of experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Must be enrolled in a graduate program at Sacred Heart University

Unusual Working Conditions

Some nights and weekends may be required throughout the semester
