School of Social Work Administrative Graduate Assistant

The SSW is seeking a graduate student to assist the School of Social Work with projects and administrative assistance.

  • Part-Time in person (15 hours/week)
  • Compensation: $5,500 stipend

Dates

August 26, 2024 - June 13, 2025

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain School of Social Work (SSW) handbooks and documents
  • Design fillable forms and fliers for SSW and academic programs
  • Conducting research for SSW faculty
  • Assist with data compilation and reporting
  • Create flyers using Canva
  • Support SSW events, student info sessions and continuing education programs

Knowledge & Skills Needed

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with any or all of the following is preferred:
    • formatting in print and online media
    • editing
    • layout and graphics

Unusual Working Conditions

This position requires a regular weekly schedule and with work completed in School of Social Work offices between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. May be asked to assist with preparation and/or staffing of events.

Ph.D. Teaching Assistant

The position is designed to support faculty in the School of Social Work Ph.D. program, who have high enrollment in their courses. The TA will gain valuable experience in teaching strategies, pedagogical approaches and technical aspects of teaching and learning.

Research Assistant #1

Research Assistant to help with various research projects including a meta-analysis study.

  • Part-Time (12 hours/week)
  • Compensation: $2,700 tuition waiver
  • Academic Program Required: Social Work, Psychology, Education, Nursing or Public Health

January 3, 2024 - June 1, 2024

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Systematic Literature Review: Conduct literature searches to identify relevant articles, books, and resources related to various research projects
  • Data Extraction: Implement and maintain data extraction protocols to ensure systematic and accurate data collection from selected studies. This includes extracting key findings, themes, quotes and any contextual information
  • Data Organization: Maintain the extracted data in the structured database for further analysis
  • Study Selection: Assist in the identification and selection of qualitative studies based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria
  • Reference Management: Maintain a comprehensive database of cited works and references for the meta-analysis
  • Documentation: Keep detailed and organized records of research procedures, methods and findings
  • Ad-Hoc Support: Provide assistance for miscellaneous research tasks and adapt to the unique requirements of research projects

Knowledge & Skills Needed

Excellent writing, communication, organizational, teamwork, time management, reading and comprehension skills.

Knowledge & Skills Preferred

A RA with data collection and analyst skills. Ideally, the individual should possess a strong commitment to research, human rights, and reproductive justice matters.

These responsibilities encompass both the specific tasks related to a qualitative meta-analysis project and the broader duties expected of a Research Assistant working on various research initiatives.

Research Assistant #2

Assist the professor with various administrative tasks, campus commitments and events and conduct research while gaining valuable experience in accordance with personal/professional goals and desires.

  • Implement research and community engagement programs

Making IMPACTS Grant Graduate Assistant

This Graduate Assistant will support the Making IMPACTS team in the School of Social Work with activities that support the project development, coordination and implementation. This project is funded by the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA).

  • Part-Time (15 hours/week)
  • Compensation: $6,750 stipend

October 3, 2022 – May 15, 2023

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Library/database research
  • Data collection
  • Data entry and management
  • Report writing and documentation
  • Coordination of various project activities including scheduling
  • Development of learning activities including assistance with experiential training (e.g., virtual reality simulations, other virtual and in-person training simulations)
  • Assist with any special events or activities such as focus groups or training.
  • Other duties may be assigned as the need arises
