Graduation Services Graduate Assistant
To primarily work with graduation services and to provide general support to the registrar’s office, as needed.
- Part-Time (20 hours/week)
- Compensation: $12,600

Knowledge & Skills Needed
- Bachelor’s degree
- Current Sacred Heart University graduate student
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Positive attitude and strong customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be software literate in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Access
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure during peak times of the year
Responsibilities
- Mailing returned diplomas and outreach to students for current addresses before mailing (includes updating spreadsheets with date mailed/tracking info)
- Reach out to Student Accounts (SA) for financial clearances to release individual diplomas and for degree verification letters
- Data entry to update and add records
- Write standard degree verification letters and complete the graduation services section of education verification forms
- Add diplomas or certificates to Parchment diploma orders spreadsheet for students cleared by SA and drag clearance emails over to Joanne (GR) and Maggie (UG) folder in the graduation email account
- Answer standard questions from students via email, telephone, or in-person – e.g. change of addresses, Change of legal name, lost or damaged diplomas, when they can expect diploma in the mail, etc.
- Assist with various commencement related tasks including data entry for marching cards, answering questions from participants
- Availability to work at cap, gown and ticket distribution or other commencement related activities, if needed
- Scan, link and shred documents for the registrar’s office
- General office assistance, as needed
